Know a table stopped updating before your stakeholder tells you.

Stalewatch is a planned hosted check for Postgres. You give it a read-only connection, a table, a timestamp column and a maximum age. When the newest timestamp is older than that limit, it sends a Slack alert.

It is for small data teams, including a single analytics engineer, who hear about stale dashboards from stakeholders first.

How it will work

1. Create a read-only Postgres role (we will document the exact SELECT-only grants).
2. Tell Stalewatch the table, the timestamp column and the maximum age.
3. Get one Slack message when the table goes stale and one when it recovers.

Status: early access. Not built yet. The Postgres checker is not started; we will build it if early-access demand is there. Postgres comes first; BigQuery and Snowflake are planned, with no date.
